‘This series came from the dreams I’ve had over the years. I used to dream that I was flying over the urban sky like a bird. In the dream, at times, there was a burning desire to head towards a certain direction; at times, I was filled with an unknown fear, as if something was desperately chasing after me. I dreamt that I was nervously darting amongst the electricity poles in the city. Sometimes, I felt like I crashed onto an electrical wire or a building, and blood covered my body; sometimes, I seemed to have fallen down to some dark corner, where a desolate sensation that crept up to me was akin to having the blue moonlight cast over my body. These three works resort to prayer flags as their primary medium. Prayer flags are infused with auspicious meanings. Tibetans believe that when they are hung in the mountains and around the rivers, they can bring blessings to all sentient beings in need of help’. —Nortse
