  • Rossi & Rossi榮幸地宣布新展《身心合一》,展覽將展出柬埔寨知名藝術家Leang Seckon的新作系列。碎布料、相片、海報、收集的舊物,這些材料都是Seckon用來講述在柬埔寨動盪不安的歷史年代裡成長、歷經困難和試圖從中恢復的過往回憶。他的作品融合了圖像和歷史參照,本土傳說和宗教象徵,時事發生和流行文化。

    《洞里薩河迴轉千流》(2017)以3.5米長的篇幅展現了藝術家創作靈感的多方來源。畫面的上方繪有一座以吳哥窟原型的皇家樓閣,畫面下方被藝術家用來展現20世紀的平行敘述,包括多位60年代的全球政客–西哈努克國王,毛澤東,戴高樂將軍和積琪蓮·甘迺迪。而畫面的右邊是寬闊的景觀,描繪的是柬埔寨人們逆流而上的堅忍特質,正如這幅畫名稱中的洞里薩河一般。

    本次展覽的主題名稱《身心合一》影射了近期返還給柬埔寨的古老石雕,比喻著在多次戰爭和紅色高棉統治後柬埔寨的自我恢復。《死而復生》(2016)畫中的主題人物是訶里訶羅神(Harihara),法國於 2016年一月歸還了這尊神像的頭部,以於神像殘缺的主體重新合而為一。畫面的左邊有一尊無頭像站立在紅色高棉“殺戮場”的一堆堆頭顱中;在畫面的正中央,一位婆羅門和飛天舉起雕像的頭部,移向其身體。畫的右邊可以看到這尊公元七世紀的石像在飛天的環繞中完整地重生了。Seckon把這尊雕像的命運和他童年時聽到的一則民間傳說連繫在一起。傳說中,一位女子在飛向月亮的途中被砍去了頭顱,於身體分離。這位女子在人間的頭顱和超凡的身體再次的合而為一,以及訶里訶羅神像頭身的合而為一,都象徵著柬埔寨作為一個國家近年以來在經濟上和社會領域的重建和新生。

    藝術家將於九月二十一日至十月一日在港,期間可以接受預約訪問。

    此次展覽將出版同名畫冊,由藝術史學家Peter D. Sharrock作序,並納入了策展人Erin Gleeson與藝術家的訪談。
